Lusaka Child Development Agency(LKCDA)
Lusaka Child Development Agency (LKCDA) is a non-profit organization established in 2008 through the merger of three Family Helper Projects, Tiyanjane, Luumuno, and Ng’ombe. Since its inception, LKCDA has been committed to improving the lives of children, youth, and families in over 10 vulnerable communities across Lusaka. Our work is rooted in community driven approaches that emphasize sustainability, local ownership, and the protection of children’s rights.

Implementing WFP’s Home-Grown School Feeding Project to improve nutrition and education 17,000 school going Children in Lusaka District
Delivering maternal and child health interventions that reached over 400 newborns and trained healthcare providers in essential skills, including neonatal resuscitation, family-centered care, maternal health infection prevention, and Kangaroo Mother Care (KMC).
Providing vocational training and entrepreneurship support to over 3600 youth for sustainable livelihoods.
Our Future Direction
As we look ahead, LKCDA is strategically focusing on youth and livelihood programming to address Zambia’s youth unemployment and SRHR gaps. We aim to scale community-driven and youth-led development while enhancing impact measurement and policy engagement.
With strong partnerships, dedicated teams, and a commitment to sustainability, LKCDA remains a key factor in safeguarding children and empowering youth for a brighter, more resilient Lusaka.
